VOLUNTEER APPLICATION

Volunteer with ShockTown’s YES

Coach. Mentor. Lead. Make a difference today.

The YES Community Program runs on volunteers. Tell us who you are and how you would like to help, and the Program Director will be in touch. Everything on this form is required unless it says otherwise, and nothing is shared outside the program.

Before you startEvery YES volunteer is screened. The program will walk you through all of it — you do not need any of it in hand to apply, and nothing on this list has to be finished before you send this form.

Every volunteer needs an Aldine ISD background check

The program runs inside Aldine ISD campuses, so the district screens every volunteer itself. It is separate from this application and it is the slow part — start it now and both move together.

Start the Aldine ISD background checkOpens the district's site in a new tab. This application stays open behind it.
  1. Fill in the district's form with your legal name and date of birth, exactly as they appear on your ID.
  2. Give it a few days. Aldine emails you when they have finished — it does not come back the same day.
  3. When the approval email arrives, text a screenshot of it to the YES Program Director. That email is the only proof the program gets that you are cleared.

Take a screenshot of it and text it to (713) 591-5301. That is all the YES Program Director needs.

What the approval email looks like

This is an example so you recognise it when it arrives — it is not an approval and cannot be sent as one. Yours will carry your own name.

You are APPROVED to volunteerno-reply@aldineisd.org

Dear [your name]

You have been APPROVED to volunteer in Aldine Independent School District for the 2026-2027 school year. Your approval status is maintained for one (1) school year and you will be required to resubmit your volunteer application each year for approval beginning July 1.

Read and adhere to the Volunteer Guidelines.

If you have any questions about your volunteer experience, please contact the campus where you are volunteering.

The district sends it in English and Spanish in the same email.

This application needs a code

The YES team gives the code out with the application link — it is on the recruiting flyer and in the text or email that brought you here. If you do not have one, call the YES Program Director at (713) 591-5301 and they will read it to you.

It is asked here rather than at the end so nobody fills in the whole application and finds out afterwards.
